Enduring the Heat!

So how do lovely ladies survive an Arizona summer? Well, its all about being smart, and practical. But one can still look and feel good while trying to beat the heat. Here are some of the things that I use or do to stay cool in the summer.
Your Skin and Makeup

Sunblock is always a must, in any part of the world! Arizona has over 300 days of sunshine, and in a rural area like mine, there aren't a lot of buildings or shade to protect you on a daily basis.

Not only does Shadow Insurance keep your eyeshadow on your lid, it prevents creasing, and it also is a  basecolor color. So it will make your eyeshadows pop and go on even smoother than if they were applied on bare skin.

Girls love summer because it gives them an opportunity to wear more dresses.  Also, my favorite summer dress is an eyelet like this one!

Sunglasses - GUESS

Sunglasses are great, and they are worn year around/everyday. I like sunglases with decorative sides. Especially for when I' wearing my hair in a pony. But as long as they are tinted to protect my eyes I will wear any kind. It is always good to remember that unlike our skin, which we can protect in many ways, sunblock, long sleeve shirts, hats, etc, there is only one way to protect our eyes.

Umbrellas are a good idea when you need to make your own shade. Lilly Pulitzer and Coach umbrellas provide a nice splash of color, and you're lever have to worry about which plain old black umbrella is yours, because you have a cute colorful one!

Don't for get water. It does't matter if its a reused water bottle, a nalgene, aluminum bottle or a sweet CamelBak water bottle. As long as there is H2O in there, you'll be fine! I tend to use a Nalgene because it's easer and bigger, but leaving it in your car will melt it. So I'm making better use of my Martha Stewart Aluminum Water Bottle. It's amazing!

Finally, if you must stay inside..

Having a good book will take you our of the heat and into somewhere fabulous. I've been raving about this book for about a year, I think it's amazing, and I think its about time I pick it up again. But if intense dramas aren't your style for a summer read, hit up a book store and get the latest beach read. They are usually easy to read but always entertaining.
